Welcome to
DevAfrica Institute!
This institute was first established in 2014 as HandsFluent Consult and evolved over time with a change of name to DevAfrica Institute holding the vision of becoming a world class institute conducting high quality, cutting edge research and training in development economics blended with a touch of industrial economic mechanisms.
It is worth noting that being the executive director in an era of acute global and nationally challenging moments given the widespread (mostly negative) impact(s) caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the economic dislocations resulting from efforts to contain the virus and the necessity to concretely address systemic economic development, growth and its related issues is not an easy role.
As difficult as it will be to guide any major organization through these inflection points, I am energized and glad to be leading DevAfrica Institute especially in this globish economic recession era.
These imperatives demand that we champion scientific discovery in a research environment that supports and encourages risk-taking while fostering a culture of excellence. I am committed to empowering and promoting our entire DevAfrica Institute.
Operating through our collaborative research endeavor with diverse institutions across Africa and the world at large, the institute has a mandate to coordinate and develop policies for the ethical conduct of multidisciplinary research pertaining to the development of Africa and beyond, developing research capacity, providing training opportunities for students as well as specialized diagnostic and monitoring services in support of development and growth programs.
